CLA and Aberystwyth University Agriculture Scholarships

The Country Land and Business Association (CLA) Charitable Trust is offering up to two scholarships to support students wishing to apply to study Agriculture courses at Aberystwyth University for entry in September 2024. The CLA Charitable Trust is particularly eager to support individuals who can demonstrate a notable interest in Agricultural Policy and other issues that will shape the future of agricultural industry across Wales and the UK. Applications are sought from individuals who are eager to bring new ideas and vision to the industry. 

Who can apply?

UK domiciled applicants for FdSc, BSc and MAg (Integrated Masters) in ‘Agriculture and related courses (including ‘Agriculture with Animal Science’ and ‘Agriculture with Business Management’).

How to apply?

Applicants will need to submit a short video (<3 minutes) introducing themselves and saying why they should be awarded the scholarship. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the submitted videos and the winner(s) of the scholarship(s) will be determined via a short interview with representatives from the CLA Charitable Trust and Aberystwyth University.  

The closing date for applications is 20 October 2024.

Value of Scholarships

The awards are worth £3,000 each to be paid in instalments in the first two years of study.

The first instalment of £750 will be paid in December 2024 and the second instalment of £750 will be paid in March 2025. In the second year, the third instalment of £750 will be paid in December 2025 and the fourth instalment of £750 in March 2026.

Conditions

Award holders must satisfy requirements for academic progression on their course and engage with CLA activities as required. If conditions are not met fully by a scholar, or if a scholar changes to an ineligible course, then funding will be terminated.
