Programme

This is a 5-credit module and so students should aim to complete at least 50 or more hours of study to get the most out of this module and to fulfil the criteria for the course. The module will cover fine drawing techniques starting with the basics, using graphite and other dry media, to depict a variety of seed-head/pod forms, with accuracy and detail.  Some botanical illustration skills like dissecting and scaling up very small subjects will also be demonstrated.
Each unit within the module will enable you to practice technique, develop your ideas, reflect upon what you have learnt and conduct research to complement your study and extend your learning. All module content is accessed through our online learning portal; you need access to a computer, a camera to send your work online to your tutor and to be proficient in using email.
