Overview

This clay making course will use forms found in nature, seed heads, pods, driftwood etc. as a starting point, through drawings in a visual diary, to develop inspiration to create clay forms developed from these original drawings. The research of other makers both historical and contemporary will help inform this creative journey.

Students will explore clay making skills relevant to the creation of their ideas, with a variety of techniques explored through the class learning experience and will complete a fired piece of pottery inspired by this creative journey.

Programme

During the sessions you will develop your 3D skills and during your home study time you will develop a visual diary exploring and experimenting with different drawing techniques and develop your ideas.  You will be encouraged to reflect on your own artwork and that of other artists.
