Postgraduate Seminar
The Aberystwyth History Postgraduate Network.
This is a group in which graduate students of all disciplines who engage with the past in some way can come together to meet, discuss and network. We hold various sessions on a wide range of topics throughout the year, which include meetings to talk through research ideas as well as discussions with academics on topics like work-life balance and securing funding. To conquer the loneliness of thesis writing, we also organise 'Shut up and Write!' sessions in a friendly and social environment. On top of this, we also host regular postgraduate drinks where people can get to know each other in a less formal setting. If you have any ideas for a session that you would like to put forward, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Though the network is based in the Department of History and Welsh History, postgraduate students from other departments with an interest in history are very much welcome to attend our events. Find the network on Facebook (here) or message the convenors to be added to the mailing list.
The Aberystwyth History Postgraduate Network is currently run by Caitlin Naylor (cen3), Kiri Kolt (ksk3) and Bethan Siân Jones (bsj1).
