Supporting students in need
“I hope that, in time, I am able to bestow on future generations of Aber students the generosity that you have shown me. Thank you.”
Every year, a proportion of the Aber Fund - Student Support donations go towards Student Hardship. The Hardship Fund is for those students who are unexpectedly struggling with finances and need a helping hand.
Student Support and Careers Service department helps these students, and ensures that they are given the right support to continue their studies without financial worries or burdens.
Thanks to your donations, 250 students were given a non-repayable grant to help them out of their financial hardship this academic year.
Laura, a PhD student in the History department, is one of many beneficiaries of the Student Hardship fund:
“I feel extremely privileged to have received funding which really helped me during a financially difficult time.”
“I needed to extend my PhD and held real concerns that I would not meet my deadline as funds were quickly drying up. With your help and generosity I was able to continue, and complete my thesis.”
“I could not have reached this point if your support had not been forthcoming.”
“I hope that, in time, I am able to bestow on future generations of Aber students the generosity that you have shown me. Thank you.”
