Cafodd ei phenodi'n Ddarlithydd Seicoleg ym Mhrifysgol Newcastle ym mis Awst 2006, lle bu'n gweithio am bum mlynedd, i ddechrau yn yr Adran Seicoleg (2006-2007), ac yna yn y Sefydliad Niwrowyddoniaeth (2007-2012). Ymunodd Catherine â'r Adran Seicoleg ym Mhrifysgol Aberystwyth ym mis Mawrth 2012.
