Can I study a PhD by Distance Learning?
PhD programmes may only be studied on a full-time or a part-time basis. Distance Learning refers to a specific method of delivering taught programmes at a distance, rather than the traditional lecture based method.
Full-time PhD students must pursue their research and be resident within reasonable travelling distance of Aberystwyth for at least 44 weeks of the year. However, part-time research students do not have to be resident in Aberystwyth. Further details of university residence requirements which must be adhered to can be found at: https://www.aber.ac.uk/en/academic-registry/handbook/regulations/student-rules-regs/
