Dr Helen Brocklehurst guest lecture: 'State of play: securities of childhood - insecurities of children'

The DDMI / IPRG in Interpol was pleased to host Dr. Brocklehurst. She is an International Relations specialist with a strong interest in children and childhood and their relationship to international politics. Her other interests include gender, security, national identity, citizenship, education and art as a political tool. Brocklehurst has worked on an ESRC project on policy making and transition from political violence, based at INCORE, University of Ulster, involving comparative research on South Africa and was recently a research coordinator on an ESRC project about British national identity. She has taught in the department of Politics and International Relations at Swansea University since 2002.
Her guest lecture was entitled 'State of play: securities of childhood - insecurities of children' and took place on 22 November in the Meetings Room of the International Politics Building.
