Plaid Cymru leader to respond to Constitutional Commission Report

The leader of Plaid Cymru will give his response to the report of the Independent Commission on the Constitutional Future of Wales at an event organised by Aberystwyth University at the end of this month.
After the Constitutional Commission – Mapping the Road to Independence takes place at 6.30pm on Wednesday 31 January at the Norwegian Church Arts Centre in Cardiff Bay.
Organised by Aberystwyth University’s Centre for Welsh Politics and Society (CWPS), attendees will have the opportunity to hear Rhun ap Iorwerth MS, leader of Plaid Cymru, respond to the report and reflect on the implications for Plaid Cymru's policy of independence for Wales.
The event will be chaired by Dr Anwen Elias, CWPS Co-Director and member of the Independent Commission on the Constitutional Future of Wales. She said:
“The Independent Commission has started a national conversation about Wales’s constitutional future; this event will help ensure that this conversation now continues. I look forward to hearing Mr ap Iorwerth reflect on the opportunities and challenges that independence presents for Wales’s constitutional future.”
This event welcomes people of all political persuasions and none. The speech will be followed by a Q&A, and a chance for further discussion.

The free event is the first in a new series organised by CWPS which will consider the future governance of Wales and the UK from different perspectives.
CWPS is an interdisciplinary research centre at Aberystwyth University aimed at developing our understanding of contemporary politics and society in Wales in the context of an inter-connected world, supporting and delivering world-class research in the social sciences, and contributing to public knowledge and debates and policy development in Wales.
