Colleagues who have access and are confident in using Adobe InDesign are able to download and utilise the range templates that have been pre-designed  to support your publications needs.

How to use the Adobe InDesign templates?

Downloading your chosen template

  1. Download the chosen publication you wish to utilise
  2. Ensure that you save your images in a dedicated folder called 'Links'. The 'Links' folder has been created for you within the downloaded zip folder. 

Using your chosen InDesign template

  1. When adding images to your publications, ensure that undertake point number two above and drag your selected image into the pre-formatted box within the selected publication. 
  2. If you would like to alter or use a different colour from the corporate colour wheel, please contact the Creative Marketing and Media Office for access to the dedicated colour pallet folder.

Exporting your chosen template for web distribution 

Within InDesign, please undertake the following steps:

  1. Go to File
  2. Select Export 
  3. Select Adobe Interactive

InDesign will provide you the option to save your document as separate pages or in fluid spreads. You should check your chosen digital platform provider whether they will accept pages or spreads. For the University's CMS, we recommend that you save your document in pages. 

Exporting your chosen template for print distribution 

Within InDesign, please undertake the following steps:

  1. Go to File
  2. Select Export 
  3. Select Adobe PDF Pre-sets and select High Quality Print
