Dafydd ap Gwilym Literary Tour

Recently, Dr Huw Meirion Edwards and Dr Bleddyn Owen Huws lead one of the Academi’s Literary tours – ‘Dafydd ap Gwilym in Ceredigion’. The tour visited Brogynin, the bard’s alleged birthplace, Llanbadarn Church (where he wrote ‘Merched Llanbadarn’) and Ystrad Fflur (Strata Florida). Both Dr Huw Meirion Edwards and Dr Bleddyn Owen Huws, who are Senior Lecturers in the Department, are experts on Dafydd ap Gwilym, one of the leading poets of Europe in the Middle Ages.
