Commencing September 2021, Aberystwyth University School of Veterinary Science will be delivering the BVSc Veterinary Science degree in collaboration with the Royal Veterinary College (RVC).

Aberystwyth School of Veterinary Science is the first of its kind and the only Veterinary School in Wales. The Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree is jointly hosted at Aberystwyth University's School of Veterinary Science and the Royal Veterinary College, Hawkshead Campus.

The Veterinary Science course has been designed to train students to identify, medically and surgically treat, and prevent diseases of animals, including household pets, farm animals, zoo animals, and horses.

Throughout this comprehensive course, we will help you acquire an understanding of the basic biological principles of normal body function and disease, and the ability to distinguish the pathological from the normal, to prevent disease and safely manage the processes of animal production.

Situated on Penglais Campus, the new Veterinary Education Centre will provide clinical skills and companion animal handling training rooms, facilities for teaching anatomy and areas for students to discuss and prepare before classes.  Built specifically for the needs of Veterinary Science students, this new facility will be operational in 2021 and will be a great new modern addition to Aberystwyth University’s teaching facilities.
