Profile

After qualifying from the University of Bristol with a BSc Hons in Anatomical Science I moved to the Royal Veterinary College, London where I qualified with a BVetMed in 1999. I worked in Dolgellau, north Wales for two years as a mixed practitioner before moving to Pembrokeshire in 2001. I worked in Haverford west for eight years as a large animal clinician, also undertaking Official Veterinarian duties at a couple of white meat slaughter houses and a red meat cutting plant, but latterly moved across to the small animal side of the practice. In 2009, I moved back with my family to Aberystwyth, my home town and started working as a small animal clinician in one of the local practices.

In September 2021, I joined the newly established School of Veterinary Sciences at Aberystwyth University as a Lecturer in Veterinary Science. I currently work four days a week for the university in this role whilst still working as a small animal clinician one day a week. I feel this helps bring real life, clinicla application to the lectures I deliver
