Application Guidance Notes - Pre-sessional English Refugee Scholarship
Before you apply:
Read the information about this scholarship on our website and check your eligibility.
This scholarship is for a 6-week or 12-week Pre-sessional English Course only. If you want to apply for a Sanctuary Scholarship to cover both your Pre-sessional Course and an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, please visit our Sanctuary Scholarships page here.
If you have been accepted for a Sanctuary Scholarship at Aberystwyth University, you will automatically be considered for a Pre-sessional Course. You do not need to complete a separate application for the Pre-sessional English Refugee Scholarship.
What you need to apply:
To apply for the Pre-sessional English Refugee Scholarship, you will need:
1. A completed online application form. Click here for the application form.
2. Your conditional or unconditional offer letter for a degree starting in 2024.
- If you have applied to Aberystwyth University and have not received an offer yet, you can submit your Aberystwyth Pre-sessional English Refugee Scholarship application before receiving your offer letter. However, no decision can be made on your Pre-sessional Scholarship application until your undergraduate / postgraduate application has been accepted and you have been made a conditional or unconditional offer.
- If you have applied to study at another University, please submit your offer letter for your degree at that university.
- If you do not have an English language test result, but your application is otherwise complete, the International English Centre at Aberystwyth University will offer you an opportunity to take an online English Language Test.
3. An IELTS test certificate or other test evidencing your current English language ability if you have one.
4. Your passport or ID documents and relevant documents from the home office showing your immigration status and right to study in the UK
