We are fortunate in Aberystwyth to have more owned or managed accommodation than the majority of other UK universities.

The University guarantees accommodation to all Fresher students but does not guarantee accommodation to returner students. This is standard practice in the higher education sector and the majority of second and third year students prefer to live in town in the private sector.

Each year we consider the availability of accommodation to returner students based on fresher forecasts and on average we open approximately a third of our accommodation to returners throughout our portfolio and students successfully log in and secure their accommodation. This is a very generous amount based on sector data. In addition, we offer students the option of placing their names on a waiting list should accommodation become available. In 2024 we successfully offered accommodation to all students who requested it, although we cannot guarantee that you will receive your first-choice accommodation.
