Student satisfaction at Aberystwyth in UK top ten

Aberystwyth is ranked a Top Ten UK university for student satisfaction in the latest edition of The Complete University Guide.

Published on Wednesday 25 April 2018, The Complete University Guide 2019 places Aberystwyth sixth in the UK and best in Wales for student satisfaction.  

Creative Writing and Psychology at Aberystwyth University are also ranked top in the UK for student satisfaction in the Guide’s analysis of subject areas.

A further four subject areas are first in the UK for Graduate Prospects, including Celtic Studies, Computer Science, Creative Writing and French, with Iberian Studies (Spanish) second.

In total, 20 subject areas out of 26 at Aberystwyth University improved their position in the latest subject league tables.

After last year’s leap of 19 places, Aberystwyth University continues its upwards trajectory in sector-wide performance league tables, climbing a further three places overall in the main table of The Complete University Guide 2019.

The findings of The Complete University Guide 2019 follow Aberystwyth University’s successes at the WhatUni Student Choice Awards held Thursday 19 April.

Aberystwyth University was awarded Gold in the Postgraduate category and Silver for International. It was also ranked in the Top Ten for University of the Year, Accommodation, Courses and Lecturers, Clubs and Societies, and Giving Back.

The Complete University Guide is based on ten measures: Student Satisfaction, Research Quality, Research Intensity, Entry Standards, Student: Staff Ratio; Spending on Academic Services; Spending on Student Facilities; Good Honours Degrees; Graduate Prospects and Completion, and features 131 institutions.

Individual subject tables are based on five measures; Student Satisfaction, Research Quality, Research Intensity, Entry Standards and Graduate Prospects, and feature 142 universities, university colleges and specialist higher education institutions.
