The Anglo-Norman Dictionary, directed by Professor D.A. Trotter since 2001, has been awarded the Prix Honoré Chavée of the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres, founded in Paris in 1663.
BBC journalist honoured

One of the Department's ex-students was honoured at this year's graduation ceremonies by being made a Fellow of the University. Betsan Powys graduated here in German and Drama in 1987 and has just been made Editor of Programmes for Radio Cymru.

Dr Wini Davies will be the main speaker at this year's Welsh-medium Modern Languages Conference in Gregynog on June 20/21, 2013. She will speak (in Welsh) on 'Standard German in the classroom - the teachers' dilemma'.
