Equipment Loans
Information Services have a range of equipment available for short term loan.
This service is available to Aberystwyth University contracted staff and registered undergraduate and postgraduate students in support of the academic aims of the University.
Borrowing equipment - terms of use
All borrowing and use of equipment loan stock is in accordance with Information Services Regulations and Guidelines
- You must have a current AU library account and an Aber card
- The equipment is to be used for Aberystwyth University purposes only.
- The borrower accepts liability for any loss or damage of the equipment.
- All items are checked on their return and users will be invoiced the cost for repair or replacement of any lost or damaged items.
- Equipment loans are usually for three days. If you need the equipment for longer, this may be possible, subject to availability; please ask at time of booking.
- You must return items borrowed as soon as they are due or when requested to do so by Information Services Staff
Please note
- Equipment must be collected from the Hugh Owen Library - it is not available for postal loan
- Due to the high demand for equipment loans we recommend you always book equipment in advance. To book please email is@aber.ac.uk
- Batteries - equipment needing rechargeable batteries will have batteries and charger supplied. Please note the batteries may not be fully charged on collection. Where equipment cannot be run on rechargeable batteries then the user will have to supply their own batteries.

- Equipment will be supplied with instruction manuals and quick start guides where applicable
- Equipment will be supplied with a pictorial guide to items supplied (e.g. cables etc)

A radio-based emergency fire alarm and messaging system for deaf and hard of hearing people. Users receive emergency messages and communications in any building on Campus displaying the Deaf Alerter symbol. For one day loan only. |
