Questions?

In addition to positive comments, you have also asked some useful questions and suggested some developments...

16 of you asked us to turn up the heating

We've turned up the heating and continue to monitor the temperature in the room. The windows open automatically, not only to regulate the temperature but also to improve the air quality.

14 of you requested blinds on the windows

Anti-glare film is being added to the windows. Unfortunately, blinds tend to break.

7 of you asked for more bins

We've added more bins to the room

7 of you wanted more plants

We've added more plants to the room

4 of you suggested that a kettle and microwave would be welcome additions

Users can buy and eat snacks and drinks from the vending machines in the library. We acknowledge that our students need a location to prepare meals or hot drinks, especially during long revision periods. We do not allow hot food in the library but we have passed on to Estates your need for a central place where students can prepare food and drink, which is safe and close to the library.

4 of you complained that it was too noisy

Iris de Freitas is a quiet group study area which means that conversing in low voices is allowed. We try to keep a balance between silent study areas and collaborative areas in our libraries. We monitor sound levels and encourage all to be considerate towards other users. Please use the text alert service if you want to alert library staff to unnaceptable noise levels.
