Katy joined the Department as Lecturer in International Politics in August 2023. Before that she taught at the University of Sussex, where she also completed her PhD: ‘Values, violence and ambiguities of resistance: interrogating "Cosmopolitan EUrope" from the border'.
Katy's research interests encompass border regimes and resistance; the legacies and logics of colonialism; EU politics; UK politics; and critical methodologies and the politics of knowledge production.
Before joining academia, Katy spent ten years working for the UK Government, most recently as Head of Constitutional Policy at the Cabinet Office.
