On 5th February 2025, the IBERS Knowledge Exchange Hub (KEHub) welcomed the technical department from Farming Connect for a one-day collaborative workshop at IBERS, Aberystwyth University. The event aimed to foster stronger connections between Farming Connect and agri-researchers from IBERS and the Department of Life Sciences (DLS), highlighting ongoing research and exploring opportunities for future collaboration.

The morning session began with a welcome from the IBERS Head of Department, followed by a series of short presentations showcasing key areas of agricultural research, including:

  • Biomass energy crops
  • Grass and clover breeding
  • Oat and pulse breeding
  • Agricultural systems research

Participants also had the opportunity to visit leading research facilities, including the National Plant Phenomics Centre, AberInnovation, and Biorefining, gaining insight into cutting-edge advancements in plant science and sustainable agriculture.

Interactive Workshop and Future Collaboration

In the afternoon, attendees took part in an interactive workshop, where Farming Connect's technical team and agri-researchers from IBERS and DLS engaged in round-table discussions. These sessions provided a valuable platform to brainstorm ideas for collaboration, fostering new partnerships to drive innovation in the agricultural sector.
