Aberystwyth University features amongst the world's top 200 institutions in 4 of the 30 subjects featured in this year's QS World University Rankings by Subject.
The results have been published on www.topuniversities.com.
Geography at Aberystwyth University features in the top 100, having climbed from a position in the top 150 in 2013.
Politics features in the top 150, having risen from the top 200 in 2013, and Agriculture & Forestry at IBERS has retained its place amongst the top 150.
A new entrant for Aberystwyth in 2014 is English Language and Literature which features in the top 150.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject list combines information from global academic and employer reputation surveys and citations per paper.
Professor Neil Glasser, Director of the Institute of Geography, History and Politics commented: “I am delighted that the efforts of colleagues in both the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences, and the Department of International Politics, have been recognised, and commended, within this prestigious ranking of universities from across the globe.

For the fourth edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2,838 universities were evaluated, 689 institutions ranked, 130 million citation attributions were analysed and the provision of 10,639 programs was verified.
