Results
The data above is from a filed trial conducted between January 2014 and May 2014 using effluent heavily contaminated with zinc with lower concentrations of cadmium and lead. It is evident that there are some correlation between the zinc and the cadmium adsorption which is likely a result of similar geochemical properties, the lead immobilization is far more effective and has been attributed to the formation of insoluble precipitate. In total the biochar accumulated 15mg/g of zinc, 7mg/g of lead and 104µg/g of cadmium.
