What do you remember most about your time at Aber?
I remember there being a real sense of community at Aber given its geographic distance from 'the big cities', the invigorating air and the sense of calm watching the sunset. The School had a strong social program which brought interesting speakers into the University, offering us the chance to broaden our perspectives.
What are you doing now career-wise and how has your Aberystwyth Degree helped?
My degree from Aberystwyth and the teaching staff and peer group were essential in the next steps of my academic and professional career. Aberystwyth was an early pioneer of teaching research skills to prospective PhD candidates and am sure that this program has evolved considerably since.
What advice would you have for a student doing your course now?
To remind them that the subject matter will remain eternally relevant and make the most of the staff and resources at Aber to build the foundations of the knowledge and understanding of intellectual frameworks for analysis that will assist you throughout your career.
