Emily Dobson

Emily graduated from Aber in 2002 with an MA in Fine Art, and is now a high school art teacher in the USA.

What do you remember most about your time at Aber?

I remember the warmth of Aber (the people and the town), the beauty of the town and working hard in the art studio.

What are you doing now career-wise and how has your Aberystwyth degree helped?

I am a high school art teacher and having a masters degree has given me a deeper knowledge of the subject matter, especially since most teachers have a second degree in Education rather than another academic discipline.

What advice would you have for a student doing your course now?

Take some extra classes beyond art in business or education - something that can help you to be more employable in the art field.
