My degree in Marketing provided me with the perfect introduction into the working world. A huge range of topics/issues were covered throughout the different modules, many of which I could face in the 'real' world. The best thing about studying at the School of Business and Management was that each and every one of the tutors was approachable and supportive throughout the whole three years of my degree. They were happy to deal with any questions that I had.
Prior to attending University I had always competed with my horses. During my first year of study I kept my horse at the Lluest livery yard in Aberystwyth and I built a number of friendships with people at the livery yard as a result.
I now work as the national marketing officer for Mencap, which is a national learning disability charity. After making applications to graduate jobs in my final year of study I was accepted on to the position with Mencap two months before my graduation date, on the condition that I graduated with a 2:1 or above. Having successfully secured the job at Mencap I now work in locations throughout the UK dealing with high profile MP's and advocates on a daily basis. I feel like I owe this fantastic opportunity partly to Aberystwyth University.
