Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this module students should be able to:

Discuss the need for continued personal and professional development and propose short-, medium-, and long-term goals.

Appraise personal employability and transferrable skills gained whilst on industry placement.

Reflect on current skills gained whilst on industrial placement and how these can be applied to future career opportunities.

Discuss examples of ethical and legal dilemmas and reflect on specific situations experienced in the workplace.

Discuss roles within the industry and critique the personal skill development needed to progress into these in the future.

Develop effective communication skills.

Brief description

The aim of this module is to offer the student opportunities to develop reflective practice and consider how they have developed both personal and professional skills that may be useful in a range of employment opportunities. Students will reflect on their experiences and will also plan for future development of skills. Alongside the development of individual skills, students will be required to investigate various roles within the industry and consider their relevance on a personal level and a wider industrial level. The emphasis of this module is on employability skills.

All content will be covered via tutorials. There will be an expectation for students to undertake independent or directed study.
