Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module students should be able to:
Critically understand the different facets of health and well-being
Understand and evaluate the main factors that impact upon the health and wellbeing of children
Understand and evaluate roles and identities of individuals and groups, and how social and political factors contribute to the health and wellbeing of children.
Brief description
This module critically examines positive and negative factors that influence the health and wellbeing of young children. Key issues relating to healthy diet, physical activity, poverty and healthy relationships will be explored. An emphasis on multi agency working and evolving policy and legislation will be evaluated in relation to individual families, communities, and wider society.

Weeks 9 and 10 – students will be undertaking placements for a different module. Where students are not on placement, they will be involved in employability workshops and events.
