Supplementary Assessment | Assignment 1 - Portfolio All failed elements of the assessment must be re-taken if the student’s average mark falls below the required pass mark of 40%. Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module students should be able to:
Examine and critically analyse the policy and strategy requirements for the application of literacy within their context.
Critically analyse and develop suitable methods and strategies to teach and support the development of a variety of literacies within their own contexts.
Apply knowledge of the development of literacies to the support and enhancement of student achievement and employability, justifying their decisions.
Brief description
This module will give you the opportunity to consider the impact of a broad perspective on literacies in the context of the teaching practitioner. You will consider the effect of developing literacy skills on student achievement, and evaluate methods of developing those skills in order to prepare students more effectively for the workplace. Policy and strategy guidance will be considered and you will analyse the impact of these in your own teaching context as well as the requirements for examination and qualification of students. You will be given opportunities to analyse students’ work as well as your own developmental needs and will consider the impact of relevant research on your own practice.
