2. Identify and address trends relating to the chosen theme.
3. Engage with information from a range of learning resources and guests from different backgrounds (e.g. textbooks, academic papers, popular media, digital media, seminar guests)
4. Reflect on learning pathways.
Brief description
This module is designed to give Foundation Year students a broad understanding of a given topic of contemporary interest. In this case, students will gather information in discussion and dialogue with experts and seminar guest presenters.
The themes that will be explored will be drawn from the Well Being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015. The 7 goals identified by the Welsh Government are:
A Prosperous Wales
A Resilient Wales
A More Equal Wales
A Healthier Wales
A Wales of Cohesive Communities
A Wales of Vibrant Culture & Welsh Language
A Globally Responsible Wales

Content
Content is delivered through weekly 1 x 2 hour seminar sessions relating to the given topic of dialogue. The theme can, as required, link to content of other foundation modules to provide further opportunity for learning and reflection.
Dissemination will take a form chosen by the student/groups of students e.g. performance, film, short story along with their seminar summaries and learning journal.
For example, if the topic of a More Equal Wales were to be explored, speakers/presenters could include colleagues from DGES, International Politics, Aber Business School and Education, plus external speakers such as the MP or AM for Ceredigion.
