This module covers the laws of the UK that relate to pollution across the media of air and water. The relevant statutory provisions and case-law are examined in order to discover the official response to polluting activities and regulatory systems established to prevent and minimise pollution from occurring. The Government'r policy initiatives and national strategies relating to these two environmental media are also considered. The administrative bodies responsible for implementation and enforcement of the legislation are highlighted, concentrating on their investigative and enforcement roles and duties.
