Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module students should be able to:
Critically review and concisely present research ideas within a short presentation format
Comprehensively understand how to develop, from an extensive range of research sources, a workable film project idea for production
Critically evaluate conceptual contributions to a scripted idea during script development; paying close attention to specific role contributions
Demonstrate an understanding of the specific elements of the film project in the production process and work within a predefined financial budget
Work professionally with a specific production role adhering to a pre-prepared schedule plan
Demonstrate mastery of technical skills within a chosen specialized area of production
Brief description
This advanced production module will build on the experiences and skills gained during the second Year Production Module. Students will have the opportunity to put into practice their specialist skills studied in year two and produce a 15 minute graduation film. Students will apply their knowledge in their chosen area studied in year 2. They will be expected to form production teams to produce and shoot a film and by the end of the second semester all students will have contributed to a 15 minute graduation film. The first part of the module will be seminar/Tutorial lead with production teams working to develop their script, pitching their idea and working on the pre-production of their project. The second half of the module will be dedicated to shooting and post producing the 15 minute film. This will be monitored via a weekly session for each production team. The design, delivery and realization of a 15 minute graduate film will be the main focus of learning in this module. Learning will be experiential and based on development in and through practice.

The design, delivery and realization of a 15 minute film will be the main focus of learning in this module and whilst there will be emphasis on the thematic areas listed above, much learning will be experiential and based on development in and through practice.
