What is the committee here for?

Well, the committee exists to promote social activity throughout all CS students and to get them coming out on at least one night a week to have a laugh with people from their subject. The committee will consist of first years who are incharge of the society from about the end of semester one.

Why do we need a committee?

The committee provides a central body from which to plan many varied activities. Also, in order for a bank account to be held we need a committee of at least three people. This provides a way of paying for the activities.

How do people get onto the committee?

As of this year, at around November/December the current committee will ask for volunteers for president etc. for the next year from the first year students. Depending upon numbers there would either be a compromise as to who does exactly what or if there were many people wanting the same position an election. The election would rarely occur, people tend to just want to help out in any way they can.
