Aberystwyth hosts annual UK conference for Apple developers

Software experts from across the world gather at Aberystwyth University this week (2-5 September) to hear about the latest advancements in the field of iOS development.
Now in its 13th year, the three-day annual iOSDEV conference features more than 30 speakers from a range of companies including Apple, Audible, Dyson, Spotify and others.
Professor Chris Price from the University’s Department of Computer Science helped launch the event back in 2010.
“We first thought of iOSDEV as being for software developers from the UK, but we get both speakers and attendees from all around the world,” said Professor Price.
“One of our priorities at the conference is to focus on the things that have changed over the past year with Apple development. That includes, for example, Vision Pro – Apple’s new headset that allows you to see virtual reality around you. There’ll be a focus too on latest advancements in machine learning.
“So software developers come to Aberystwyth in order to learn as well as share knowledge and ideas. It’s a great conference for us too as a Department of Computer Science because it allows us to keep in touch with developers in the real world, to see what they're doing and make new connections.”
