Graduation, a time for celebration!

More than 2,700 students will be graduating from Aberystwyth University this week as Graduation 2013 gets underway today, Tuesday 9 July.

Graduation week, which this year features nine ceremonies over four days from Tuesday 9 until Friday 12 July, is the highlight of the University calendar and is a celebration of the achievements of Aberystwyth students.

It is also an opportunity for graduates to celebrate and enjoy the occasion with family and friends.

For the very first time, this year’s celebrations will include a ceremony for those who have successfully completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Education.

Professor April McMahon, the University’s Vice-Chancellor, explains, “I look forward to shaking the hand of each graduate and personally wishing them well in the future.

“There are a number of occasions during the academic calendar when I feel particularly proud of our students’ achievement and Graduation sees the culmination of all our students’ successes.

“Whether it is further study or going into the workplace, our students will be moving on to the next chapter in their lives and I wish them a fruitful and fulfilling future. We should also remember that our students owe a great deal to our dedicated academic and support staff, and Graduation offers a welcome opportunity for us all to say thank you.”
