Reasons to study with us
Whether you're studying with us for personal development, to enhance your career prospects, or to increase your knowledge of a subject you're interested in, you can expect flexible education of the highest standard.
Learning that fits around you
Many of our courses have no entry requirements, all you need is an interest in the subject and a willingness to explore it in the company of others.
Because we want to make it as easy as possible for you to study with us, courses are scheduled during the day, in the evenings and at weekends.
Many courses are available online, which gives you the flexibility to study from home.
We are committed to improving access to all students. Contact us to discuss any requirements you may have, whether they are related to access to buildings, or aids to learning.
The learning experience
You will be taught by an Aberystwyth University tutor with specialist knowledge in their subject. Our tutors are experienced in teaching adult learners and will support your learning experience, offering ongoing guidance as you study.
Classes are usually small, which makes discussion easier and allows more time for the tutor to pay attention to your individual needs.
Our courses have a strong sense of community, giving you the opportunity to meet new people and contribute to stimulating discussion.

University credits and qualifications
You can earn credits towards qualifications when you complete the required work and assessments.
These credits are part of a national scheme, which means they are recognised by most universities and educational establishments. This is useful when you want to continue your studies elsewhere.
We have developed Certificate in Higher Education qualifications in several subject areas as well as a Diploma in Higher Education in Field Ecology.

Fee Waiver Scheme
If you live in Wales you may be eligible to have your fees waived under the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales' Part-Time Undergraduate Fee Waiver Scheme.
With the support of the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW) we are offering a fee waiver scheme (subject to availability) to support students who would not otherwise have access to higher education. Eligible students will have their course fees paid by HEFCW.
