Overview

Everyone experiences stress and times when life gets out of balance. This course explores the nature and causes of stress and approaches to managing this from a range of perspectives, including cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness and assertiveness. 

Programme

This is an online course, with weekly live teaching sessions delivered via Microsoft Teams. The assignments will be submitted via our Virtual Learning Environment, Blackboard.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module, students should be able to:  

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of the scientific foundations of stress management.
  2. Reflect on and evaluate stress management interventions.
  3. Propose and discuss new interventions aimed at increasing wellbeing.

  1. Test - Multiple choice (30%)
  2. Reflective Essay - 1500 Words (70%)
