Overview
In the second part of the Applied Positive Psychology course, we will continue our exploration of the key concepts in Positive Psychology such as strengths, coping, resilience and motivation. We will also look at how Positive Psychology is currently applied in various contexts such as education, coaching and organisational development.
Similarly, to the first part of this course, each week you will be encouraged to take part in short activities aimed at increasing your wellbeing, based on findings from Positive Psychology. This course will be delivered online and will include elements of self-directed learning as well as weekly live sessions focused on discussion and collaboration. Ideally, you would complete the Science of Wellbeing Part 1 before moving to Part 2, however, if it is not possible, you will still be able to fully participate and benefit from this course.
Programme
Activities and tasks will be embedded into each unit so students can practise the techniques they have learned and develop their skills. Students will be encouraged to share their own work and participate in discussions on Blackboard. Alongside the learning materials on Blackboard the tutor will be on hand via email to answer any queries and provide guidance throughout the course. They will also participate in the online discussions.
Each week includes:
(1) 1-hour of self-directed study including watching a pre-recorded lecture and taking part in asynchronous activities on Blackboard.
(2) 1-hour live session on Microsoft Teams focused on discussion and collaboration .

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this module, students should be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the scientific foundations of Positive Psychology.
- Reflect on and evaluate Positive Psychology Interventions.
- Apply key concepts from Positive Psychology to your personal life.
- Propose and discuss new interventions aimed at increasing wellbeing.
- Demonstrate an understanding of how key concepts of Positive Psychology can be applied in various contexts, outside of their own self-development.

- 2 x Blackboard quizzes (20%)
- Reflective journal - 6 entries/300 words each (80%)

This course is for everyone. No previous experience is needed and there are no formal entry requirements.

As this is an online course, you would need the following:
• Internet access.
• Access to a laptop or computer with a web camera and microphone; the use of headphones might also be of benefit.
• Use of the Chrome web-browser where possible.
