Overview

In this module you will learn how to create your own short film for social media. During the course you will plan, film, edit and deliver a film that can be used on many social media platforms. Creating dynamic and engaging video content is an important part of many marketing and communication jobs and this module will help you to develop these skills.

No previous experience or specialist equipment is necessary, we will be using your phone, tablet or computer that you are already familiar with.

You can complete this module at your own pace, but it is recommended that you finish it during the course of one semester (approximately 3 months)

You will be assessed on your plan, execution of film and the reflection of your learning.

Programme

This course will help you to develop some basic film making skills to enhance your social media posts or to use in other settings too. By the end of the course you should have produced a short (one to three minute) film on a topic of your choice.

You don’t need anything other than a smartphone to make your film and a laptop or desktop computer to complete the course. The techniques learnt here can easily be transferred if you have access to a more specialist camera or video editing software.
