Profile
I qualified as a teacher in 2006. Since 2007 I have taught Creative Writing for adults at Coleg Harlech and then at Aberystwyth University and have worked with every age group within the mainstream education system in Wales. I am currently an English teacher and literacy support teacher at a secondary school in Powys as well as a Study Skills Tutor for graduates at Aberystwyth University.
Writing, being outdoors and travel are all passions of mine. I hold a writing club once a month in Machynlleth, and although am short on time, I aim to write a poem a week. I have written books for children, articles for rural and parenting magazines and would like to write for the young adult market when I have less commitments.
I love teaching adults and have really enjoyed developing several courses for Lifelong Learning’s Creative Writing Certificate of Higher Education. I appreciate the way in which learners bring so much to every course and how each course just gets richer and richer and changes every time I teach it.
