We live in an exciting age of expanding knowledge and understanding of how people’s perceptions, thinking and communication strategies differ. Far from being a disability, or curable defect; neurodiversity is recognised as an inseparable part of a person; I think differently, therefore I am too!
This course aims to help you understand and celebrate neurodiversity by focusing on our everyday interactions. It provides definitions, communication strategies, inclusive practices and an understanding of how independence can be fostered. We will celebrate the dynamic world of neurodiverse thinkers which includes people with ADHD, autism, Autism Spectrum Disorder, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, Tourette’s syndrome and synaesthesia. You will be asked to reflect on a scenario and make a reflective journal.
