Overview
On this course we will be exploring the varied use of texture and surface within a ceramic work to enhance your design ideas. Combined with the consideration of form we will explore the potential for the use of texture and / or the use of pattern within your work. Tuition will be tailored to the individual to help create and develop your design ideas using the medium of clay.
Programme
We will be looking widely at the use of texture, pattern and form by numerous artists and makers throughout art history. Observation and discussion will be used to assess your progress during the sessions and there will be an opportunity for you to self-assess alongside the tutor.
Throughout the duration of the course, you will make 3D work in clay and put together a visual diary that reflects the development of your clay work, your experiments, revelations, and influences.
