Overview

This intensive course is an introduction to simple printmaking techniques to enable artists to understand the techniques and processes of printmaking There will be an opportunity to explore and investigate both figurative and abstract forms while practicing new skills. Workshops will include drawing from observation and the exploration of mark making and safe studio practice.

Programme

This course offers you a comprehensive tour of relief printing methods and encourages you to develop both traditional and experimental techniques.  Taking place in the print workshop at the School of Art, we can take advantage of the excellent facilities and there is plenty of accommodation in the town if needed for the 4-day intensive course.  Both linocuts and woodcuts will be practised first in black and white and developed in colour. The course fee includes the essential materials.
