Overview

This module has been created to address learning and well-being issues related to Covid-19. There is now a demand to deliver the content as self-paced learning and helping student get over crisis through art. This links well to our modules in Building Resilience, Drawing with Scissors and Art for Starters. The assessment seeks to allow the student to find an avenue and time in their week to be mindful and enjoy the experience of being creative.

Programme

Drawing for well-being is not just about drawing but is all about making time for art and creativity, to use art as a way to relax and have fun creating and experimenting with drawing, colour and even collage and making books. All module content is accessed through our online learning portal; you need access to a computer, a camera to send your work online to your tutor and to be proficient in using email.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module, students should be able to:

  1. To use art and creativity as a focus for well-being and to practise mindfulness to reduce anxiety.
  2. To show the basic use of colour theory.
  3. To produce a reflective diary of drawings with creative ideas, exercises and quotes.
