DIS Student 2021 British Council Alumni Award Finalist

The Department is delighted to announce that one of its former distance learning Master’s students, Gayatree (Geeta) Ramlall, was recently shortlisted for a 2021 British Council Alumni Award in the Social Impact category. The Alumni Awards pay tribute to the impact that alumni of UK higher education institutions have had in their chosen field, and how this was sparked by their studies in the UK.
DIS celebrates 50 Years

On December 18th DIS celebrated 50 years of providing quality courses in Information Studies.
Fifty staff, both past and present, attended a buffet lunch in Pen Bryn organised by Mike Lowe, Geraint Evans and Lucy Tedd.

After 20 years as Editor of the journal 'Program' DIS Lecturer Lucy Tedd was recently awarded an Outstanding Service Award by the Emerald Literati Network. The award also recognised Lucy's significant contribution to the development of scholarly research in the field of digital librarianship.
