Welcome
The Learning and Teaching Enhancement Unit (LTEU) designs and delivers much of the educational and professional development of staff at the University. LTEU provides an annual programme of continuing professional development (CPD) sessions, events and workshops, but also delivers a number of accredited programmes of study, including the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education (PGCTHE) and Teaching for Postgraduates at Aberystwyth University modules. LTEU also plays a part in organisational development and manages the Recognition Scheme for awarding Advance HE fellowships. LTEU also works closely with the Graduate School to organise the Aberystwyth Researcher programme - a unified skills and development provision, focussed on the needs of early career researchers. LTEU promotes technology-enhanced learning and teaching by supporting a range of e-learning tools including Blackboard, Turnitin and Panopto.
Our Mission and Approach
Our mission is to professionalise individual and group working practice in all aspects of University business. Those who are professional in their work:
- Take personal responsibility for their role;
- Are pro-active;
- Learn from experience and constantly strive for improvement;
- Interact and communicate effectively with others.
All of our provision and support is geared at helping staff to improve these areas of professional practice.
Our approach is to be pro-active in finding new opportunities to engage and support staff in personal development. You are encouraged to approach LTEU to discuss your own professional development needs.
