Assessment is by course work and takes place periodically throughout the academic year. The process of assessment is incremental and in some cases cumulative, designed to keep you fully informed of your progress throughout the degree scheme. It is backed by an advisory provision that ensures you choose a study scheme appropriate to your aptitude and development.
The period of residence for MA programmes is one year full-time or two years part-time. All taught components are completed by the end of September and candidates are expected to submit the dissertation for MA Fine Art and Art History and the MA Art History by the end of the period of residence. University regulations permit one additional year for full-time, or three years for part-time candidates, in which to submit the dissertation. During non-residence, no fees are payable.
