Brief description
This module will provide students with transferrable skills, and sensitise them to the uses made of language by the historian. It is designed to provide a central component of both the Joint Honours scheme in History and French and to serve as a bridge to the special Subject on French History offered by Prof R Price for History and Politics and Modern History students. At least the equivalent to good A level knowledge of French will be a prerequisite. It would complement the syllabus of history students who had elected to take French in Part One and had taken the 20 credit French Language Written Skills module in their first year.
