On this page, you will find everything you need to know about enrolling with us, and the different stages you need to complete to officially become a student at Aberystwyth University!

We have created two checklists. One is a simple step by step guide, and the other a slightly more detailed version if you require more information.

You will receive e-mail prompts when you need to complete each stage so please check your inbox regularly after activating your Aberystwyth University IT account. You might want to bookmark this checklist also so you can jump back in whenever you need to.

 

Your Enrolment Checklist

Before you begin your studies at Aber, you will need to set up your University IT account, access your student record and start the online enrolment for your course.

Activate your Aberystwyth University IT account

Check your personal email inbox after you’ve met all the conditions of your course. You will receive an email to activate and set up your university IT account.

Apply for your Aber Card

Once you've activated your IT account you can also apply for your university card. You need to apply for your Aber Card to make sure it is ready for you to collect when you arrive on campus.

Download your Student Hub

The Student Hub is your online portal to make it easier for you to access the information and systems you need throughout your studies at Aberystwyth University.

Access the Online Student Induction

The University’s Online Student Induction provides useful information on what to expect at the University as well as guidance on various support that will be available to you whilst studying with us.

Enrol for you course online

Before you can be known as a full-time or part-time student at Aberystwyth you will need to complete pre-registration and registration. Check your university e-mail inbox for messages related to pre-registration of modules and you can access details of your study scheme and core modules from your Student Record:

Postgraduate Student?

Please note that this stage is not relevant for Postgraduate Research Students.

International Student?

Officially registered as a student at Aberystwyth University…!

Once you have completed registration then:

For students eligible for maintenance loans/grants: Confirmation is sent to the Student Loans Company (SLC). Payments occur 3-5 days after registration, directly to the provided bank account details.

For Self-Funded Students: You need to pay tuition fees in full within 30 days via an online portal. Alternatively, you can set up an automatic payment plan during registration.

You will then officially be registered as a student at Aberystwyth University!
