Trio Sci Cymru Programme Privacy Notice 

 

Who are we? 

For the Trio Sci Cymru Programme Welsh Government is the Data Controller and is committed to protecting the rights of individuals in line with data protection legislation (the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018). 

 

What is the programme about? 

The programme has been specifically developed in regard to the European Social Fund to increase the take up of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subjects amongst 11- 14 year olds.  The activities will be delivered by several specific joint beneficiaries/delivery partners. Activities can include interactive “hands on” experiments, roadshows, virtual reality exhibits, online learning platforms etc. All activities covered under the programme will be delivered “free of charge”.  

 

The personal data you provide will be used for Statistical and evaluation purposes (carried out in a way that ensures individual children and young people cannot be identified). We will process your data on the basis of the official authority vested in us and to undertake tasks in the public interest: 

  • to inform, influence and improve education policy; 
  • to monitor and target funding effectively; 
  • to monitor the performance of the education service as a whole; 
  • to link with other Welsh Government datasets,  to inform wider education policies  

 

Where the data is provided on an optional basis it will be processed with your consent. 

 

Publication purposes (carried out in a way that ensures individual children and young people cannot be identified): 

  • a range of statistical outputs on the Welsh Government website; 
  • Data tables published on StatsWales 

 

Who do we share your information with? 

For the purpose of this project, your data will be collected by the Joint Beneficiaries/delivery agents on behalf of Welsh Government.  All data that you provide to Joint beneficiaries/delivery agents during your participation in the programme will undergo a process of anonymisation. Survey information from this project may be made available, in an anonymised dataset, to external professional evaluators for evaluation and analysis purposes. 

 

How long will we keep your information? 

Welsh Government is required to keep your information until 31st March 2025.  

 

Your rights in relation to your information. 

You have the right to: 

  • access to the Personal data that we are processing about you;  
  • require us to rectify inaccuracies in that data;  
  • the right (in certain circumstances) to object to processing; 
  • the right for your data to be ‘erased’;  
  • lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) who is our independent regulator for data protection.
